APPLICATION FOR PARTICIPATION ON SAFETY AND SECURITY ONLINE FOR WOMEN
As part of its efforts to promote safety and security in the use of the internet by women, the Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) with support from the Association for Progressive Communications (APC) is planning a capacity building training for women on safety and security on the net and countering of online gender-based violence. The two-day training will equip participants not only the skills and knowledge and to strategies for combating gender-based violence online but also turn them into facilitators to provide similar training to other women.
Application is now invited from women who work with either women focused or women led NGOs/CBOs in the states of Kano, Bauchi, Jigawa, Katsina and Yobe. Prospective participants should:
1. Be computer literate and using the internet
2. Has a letter of commitment from her organization committing the organization to supporting the step-down of the training to at least 20 other women/girls either in their organization or within their communities
3. A declaration that the participant will abide by the Learn and Teacher Others (LATO) principle of CITAD which is that some other people should benefit from her training
Note that while the CITAD will be responsible for your participation in the training, your organization will be responsible for the step-down training.

Candidates using another person’s email address are automatically disqualified.
Expression of interest closes by 17th November, 2017. Shortlisted applicants will be informed by 24th November, 2017. The training will take place on 11th and 12th in Bauchi, Bauchi State.
