Kano Social Influencers Summit (KanSIS23)

Kano Social Influencers Summit (KANSIS) is an annual event organized by the Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD). The summit is an event that features presentations and panel sessions during which experts discuss and debate topical issues that relate to development in our  society. This year’s summit will be the fourth in the series, which will focus on examine the different models to enhance  election credibility and the impact of social media in improving election in Nigeria.

Like the previous summits (KANSIS 2019, 2021 and 2022), the summit was well attended by the academia, researchers, professionals, development partners, artists, film-makers, and other social influencers. Now that new governments have emerged and are setting out to begin their term, it is important to see what role social media will play in terms of agenda setting for the government, in terms of tracking what candidates did promise and the demand for accountability. The Social Influencers Summit will be holding in the last quarter of this year, 2023, and by which time all the new governments might have settled and could be executing policies. For this reason, we have decided that the theme for this year’s summit will be: “Social Media in Post Election Agenda Setting, Accountability and citizens Oversight”

Apply here to become a part of this year’s summit and seize the opportunity to learn from distinguished experts who will share their invaluable experiences from various countries on the effective use of social media for electoral campaigns.
