The Buji Youth Development Association (BYDA) organized Accountability Forum in Buji Local Government. The activity took place at the Community Primary School on Wednesday April, 3rd 2008.

It could be recalled that, coalition of CBOs in the local government met and identified some issues that need redness from the immediate authority. The issues were the rehabilitation or reconstruction of Buji Lelen Kudu road and water supply. However, the community prioritized the road construction.After series of Advocacy to all the stake holders in the community, the Buji Youth Development Association (BYDA) organized this Forum which aimed at committing the elected representatives before the public on the issue identified. However, the project yielded positive result as the road has been rehabilitated, while a generating set was purchased to generate power for the use of pumping water in the community.

The speaker of the local government Honorable Kaila Ya Yari and other three (3) councilors represented the local government. In his speech, the speaker of the council explained that at present two additional Hand pumps were constructed, while more others will be constructed in other wards so as to cushion the water problem in the community.

The accountability forum was supported by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and the CITAD.
