Career Talk at Government Senior Secondary School Utai Wudil Local Government Area, Kano State

In continuation of its effort to provide, ICT awareness in Nigeria, the Centre for Information Technology and Development, (CITAD) Kanohas conducted an ICT Career lecture at GovernmentSeniorSecondary School, Utai Wudil Local Government Area of Kano State on Wednesday, 30th June 2012 at the school premises. The Principal of the School Mallam Muhammad Musa Wudil and eight other teaching staff of the school attended the lecture.

Malam Mukhtar Suleiman and Shehu Usman Salihu delivered the ICT career lecture respectively. Issues concerning the significance of computer, the uses of the internet were extensively discussed. In his lecture, Malam Mukhtar Suleiman explained the historical origin of computer, its component parts and how it can be used to enhance human activities.

Report of the Career Talk conducted at GSS Gadadin, Dutse Held on 24th May, 2012

The Career Talk was declared open by Vice Principal Hassan A. Ibrahim with an opening prayer. He then introduced the representative of Jigawa State Zonal Education Office and the CITAD team to students.

Sagir Ado who led the career talk introduced the members of the career talk team and mentioned their responsibilities in the organization. He also mentioned some of the activities of CITAD such as the career talk, ICT Quiz, Voter Education, e-Governance Soft option Scheme etc. He stated that the purpose of the talk is to sensitize students on the importance of the computer education in the society. He then handed over the talk to Malam Mukhtar Umar.

Malam Mukhtar Umar started his presentation with asking students questions on the computer and its parts. He was happy with the ways that the students responded to his questions. It appeared that they know something about computer.

Second Term Career Talk at Govt. Senior Secondary School Hassana Sufi

On 24th may, 2012 Center for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) conducted Its Second Term Career Talk inKanoat Govt. Senior Secondary School Hassana Sufi.

The Talk Conducted by team members namely: Mal Ado Shehu Yakasai, Abdullahi Abdu Jido & Khadeeja Ismail.

The session was opened by Mal Ado after introducing the team, Mal Ado express his gratitude as the school gave us a time and opportunity to conduct this career talk. He then stress the important of computer in education especially for ladies, where he said a lady can start her at home, if you are not allowed to work under government.Adoalso explains the component of computer and its function.

Khadeeja Ismail is the second presenter where addressed the student that they should try and read more hard to see that they have achieve to become computer literate, according to her she said computer is found in every angle of life, so it has so much impact on our life.

Then third presenter Abdullahi Jido talks on Internet and its uses.

At end series question and answers were made at event. Over 250 students attended which compared JSS 3, SS 1 and SS The session closed by 12:50pm.

ICT Carrier Talk at GSS Gaya

In contiuation of its effort to provide ICT awareness in secondry schools, CITAD has conducted an ICT carrier talk at GSS Gaya on tuesday 7,2012. After welcome address by the principal Mal. Adamu Inuwa, two presentations were made at the talks.

The first presentation was made by Mukhtar suleiman on computer and its parts. The second presentation was made on the functions/uses of the computer by shehu usman Halipha. The Talk had the attendance of about 200 students from SS 1,2 and JSS 3.

In his remark Mal Sagiru Ado urged the students to take the Computer Education as their carrier oppurtunity in the future as the importance of the ICT is never emphasise.

In his closing remark vice principal Mal. Bashir and mal. Adamu A. Gwadabe HOD computer thanked CITAD on this effort and requested CITAD to invite the school to its annual ICT quiz, as they have computer dept in the school.
