COVID-19: CITAD Calls for Urgent Distribution of Palliative in Bauchi

Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) has enjoined Bauchi State government to immediately start distributing palliatives in the State .

A statement signed by its Acting Programmes Coordinator in Bauchi, Isah Garba, the centre urged the state COVID-19 palliative committee to swing into action, especially in the areas affected by the total lock down to ease their sufferings.

It implored the state government to revisit the total lock down imposed in the 3 local governments of the state and give room for essential services, while stressing the need for finding a way of addressing the problem of irrigation farmers in the affected local governments to avoid losing food and economic damage.

The statement lamented over poor health workers -patients relationship, poor condition of some isolation centres, who have no basic hygiene such as portable drinking water and good sanitation.

CITAD commended the people of Azare, the headquarters of Katagum Local government for effective compliance with the lock down order, and urged other local government areas to emulate.
