CITAD Holds Hate Speech Sensitization Workshop in Uyo.

The Center for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) has today held a sensitization workshop on Hate and Dangerous Speech for members of civil society groups, youths groups, religious and traditional leaders, media, women groups and students associations in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state. CITAD is presently implementing a “Curbing Hate Speech in Nigeria Project” that is supported by MacArthur Foundation, the project involves monitoring, countering and sensitizing people on Hate and Dangerous Speech, similar sensitization workshops have taken place in Katsina, Enugu, Lagos, Bauchi and many other places. Toady’s workshop sensitized the participants on many concepts around the theme “Sensitizing People on Hate and Dangerous Speech” which included Understanding Hate and Dangerous Speech, Strategies for Countering and Reporting Hate and Dangerous Speech, etc
