CITAD TO LAUNCH AN EDUCATIONAL FILM FOR CHILDREN TITLED FASAHAR SADARWA DON YARA (ICT4Kids) IN KANO AND JIGAWA

The Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) in its effort to take ICT Knowledge down to the level of children for sustainable development produced an educational movie Titled Fasahar Sadarwa Don Yara (ICT4Kids). The film is focused to provide education on ICTs for children using illustrations that spark the quest for learning ICT skills for kids. It is produced in simplified Hausa language with the aim of demystifying the jargon of ICT for easy understanding by children thereby inculcating IT consciousness to the young generations in Nigeria.

AB Mahmud (SAN) is the Chairman of the occasion; Chief Launcher is Alhaji Abdullahi Maikano, the Executive Secretary, Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF). The Emir of Kano, HRH Malam Sunusi Lamido Sunusi II (CON) is expected to be the Father of the Day and His Excellency, Engr. (Dr) Rabiâ€™u Musa Kwankwaso, the Executive Governor of Kano State as Chief Host. It will also host number of prominent Nigerians ranging from government officials, intellectuals, businessmen and development partners across Nigeria

The Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) with support from MacArthur Foundation conducted a 2-day training on the Use of Social Media for Peace advocacy for CSOs in the North-East and North-Western states of Nigeria. It was held at RiverEdge Resort, Bauchi on 11^th and 12^th of June, 2014. The participants numbering 36 were drawn from the CSOsÂ in the 5 states of the North-East, namely Bauchi, Gombe, Taraba, Adamawa, and Borno.

In its effort to promote computer literacy and create awareness on information and communication technology (ICT) among the students, the Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) on Tuesday 3rd December, 2013 conducted its 6^th Jigawa State annual ICT quiz competition for secondary schools. The event which witnessed the attendance of Alh. Aliyu Ahmad Shangurum Director Science Department, a representative of the Hon. Commissioner Ministry of Education Science and Technology, Alh. Muhammad Musa Permanent Secretary SSG Office and Comrade Usman Yaâ€™u Dutse National Union of Teachers (NUT) Jigawa State was conducted at Jigawa State Library Dutse.Â
